1. How many children are in each class?
Why it matters: Attention is divided by the number of children. Good answer: a specific number and a policy to keep it small. At Cambridge, classes are kept small so every child is known by name.
2. How long have the class teachers been at this school?
Why it matters: Teachers who leave every year mean a child restarts every year. Good answer: several teachers with five or more years at the school, and a training programme for all.
3. Can I see a lesson in progress?
Why it matters: Watching five minutes of a class tells you whether learning is interactive or dictation. Good answer: "Of course." Look for smart boards in use, children answering, and a teacher who moves around the room.
4. Are coding and robotics in the regular timetable or an extra fee?
Why it matters: Many schools advertise "technology" that turns out to be a paid weekend class. Good answer: a fixed weekly slot from a specific class, with a lab you can walk into. At Cambridge, robotics, Python coding and AI literacy are part of the regular programme from primary level.
5. How is spoken English taught?

Why it matters: Twice-a-year report cards are not enough. Good answer: regular parent-teacher meetings, a parent app or messages, and a teacher who calls when something needs attention.
10. What happens after your highest class?
Why it matters: You do not want a second admission hunt in three years. Good answer: a clear path. Cambridge runs Pre-KG to 8th Standard, and Aathikulam students move automatically to K Pudur after Standard 5.
What to observe while you walk
